Water hose on Alpha 1

Is it possible to replace the water hose without removing the outdrive and the bellows? I had read where the 3/4" hose needed to be 13 inches, so I shortened it and now it has come off. Sooo - now I need a new hose and need to replace.

You need to remove the u-joint bellows so you can access the top fitting where the hose is connected.

According to a website that sells Mercruiser molded hoses the size is : 3/4 " X 13 7/8 "
