Max RPM?

I was wondering what the Max recommended RPM is for these units?

We only warranty and support stock applications, so whatever the max RPM for your stock engine is would be the max for the lower unit.

OK, I have an older merc 2.4. It runs 7000 rpm. It is stock but is a hi-perf engine from the 80's.

Are these units capable of 7000 rpm or are they limited to 5800?

The unit would handle the RPM's. What the high performance units like yours usually have is a bigger propshaft which will allow for using a surface piercing prop. We wouldn't warranty our in a surface piercing situation.
