Hi

I have this engine and am wondering of your 306 gear case will replace my lightning gear case? I beleive the lighning gear case has a different gear ratio than the magnum.

From what I can find your lower unit is different from the replacement we offer. If you provide the model number I can tell for sure.

The Number is E225FHLSTA. It come with a lightning lower unit but I think the Magnum lower unit is also compatible. Not sure the differene in gear ratios.

I think there only two gear cases that Evinrude makes for the V6's the Lightning and the Magnum. Both are compatible with my engine. What is the gear ratio of your product.

I think they make about four different lowers. If your lower has the 4 3/4" diameter bullit then our unit will bolt up and work but it is not the same style. Our ratio is 1.83/1 which replaces the 1.86/1.
