Unserstanding Forward Reverse Neutral

As I get ready to put on the drive shortly. Brand new 106. I also replaced the shift cable with a new one. What I wanted to know is how this drive is set up to shift. Is Neutral inbetween forward and reverse or is it after forward and reverse. In other words as you move the shift lever on the outdrive forward is straight ahead, what is netral & reverse.

Forward is obtained by rotating the shift shaft clockwise, while turning the prop shaft counter clockwise, until it stops and the shift shaft points straight ahead. Reverse is obtained by rotating the shift shaft counter clockwise, while turning the prop shaft clockwise, until it stops. Neutral is half way between forward and reverse.
