Reverse

Hi, first time poster here. I just recently bought the SE106. Followed the instructions sent with and put her into the water. Ran great was very happy. tried to put her in again and no reverse. OK on the trailer not running, I could remove the lower shifter cable from mount and manually pull into reverse. But now that put it back, still no reverse. Now, I bought a new cable as this one is at least 3 years old and was over killing while shifting. While having the drive off, manually shifting it, it will go into forwards but not reverse. Is that normal?

It sounds like you need a shift cable adjustment. Email warranty@sterndrive.cc and request the shift cable adjusting document.

Be sure that you haven't lost the stainless washer on the lower shift shaft.
If it is not there the unit will not always go into reverse. Been there and done that!!
