SE106 Shavings in Lube Oil After 1st Change

I have put 10 hrs on my SE106 lower unit IAW with proper break-in procedures. The unit ran fine so far but I noticed approximately an pencil eraser size cluster of fine metal shavings attached to the magnet of the lower drain plug and fine flakes throughout the lube oil when I had changed it at 10 hrs. Is this normal?

Yes it is normal, I would expect a large amount for the first 10-20 hours, then it will create smaller amounts after that.

I experinced the same when I first put mine on.

This is my 3rd season and leg is still going strong.
