SE 116 Over heating

I installed a new upper unit. The lower only had 3 hours on it. I did install a new impeller.
The temp was great for the first 8 hours but now it overheats at idle and low rpm and seems to be getting worse requiring more and more rpm to keep cool

I would suspect the impeller. If the impeller is starved for water for even a brief time it will wear rapidly. This can happen when running on muffs or picking up a plastic bag while on the water. Also running in sandy water can wear the impeller prematurely.
