Trim Problems

When I put my trim down it gets almost all the way down and then it starts to go back up while still holding the down button .

Would this problem be caused by a internal leak in the rams or is this a problem with the pump .

Does the pump sound as if it is switching to the other solenoid? Possibly there is a short in the switch or at the pump. I wouldn't think both cylinders would develop an internal leak at the same time.

The pump does not switch to the other solenoid. It still happens even if I have the out lines disconnected from the cylinder . I just purchased the boat and it looks like something might have hit the lower unit . My thought is the the shock valve inside the cylinder is damaged or not seating all the way and fluid is leaking internally.
Does that sound like a possibility ?

It sounds as though it is the cylinders. If the drive hit something hard enough to damage them I would inspect the prop shaft to make sure it is not bent.
