Replacing Upper Unit Oil Seal

I had to seperate the two halves of my 106 to replace an impeller and pump housing. When preparing to bolt them back together, I noticed a torn oil seal in the upper unit. I assume I have to take apart the upper unit gear assembly to replace that seal? Any tips? - I am mechanically inclined, but new to the guts of my outdrive...

If it is only the lower water seal you do not have to take the unit apart. You can remove the seal and drive a new one in place.
