I am looking to buy this boat. It has a 5.0 fuel injection. I ran the boat this weekend with some disappointment. The dealer I am working with does not seem to know much about this boat. It weighs about 4200 lbs. I was having big problems getting it on plane. I had three adults and 2 small kids on the boat, it finally planed out after about 45 sec to 1 minute. When I ran the boat at full speed it ran about 50mph.

I am being told it due to the pitch of prop. I am concerned the boat is underpowered. As you can see from my indepth knowledge, I am not very experienced. Can some one please advise.

I would suggest going to an online prop calculator to try and determine the recommended size prop for your boat, motor and drive package. Generally, manufacturers provide the correct power plant for performance and economy. You can fine tune the boat by changing the prop.
