Water pump help

Installing new water pump in an SE106, what lubricant do you suggest for impeller and the water pump housing? What direction to turn shaft to help insert impeller .

I normally just use a thin film of any type of grease, although something water based would be best. You want to turn the shaft clockwise when installing the impeller.
