i noticed when engaged in forward and put lever in neautral the drive stays engaged, it happens 75% of the time and you have to shift to reverse then neutral to stop drive. what to do.

It sounds like your shift cutout switch is either not working or needs adjustment. Email kevin@sterndrive.cc and I will send you a pdf on how to test and adjust the switch.
