I ordered and received a SEI 216 for a Mercury 3.0 V6 with a 25" shaft. The se# is OG558455. Upon taking the old unit off to install the new one I discovered that this is a two-pice shaft. The lower droped right off along with the coupler but I cannot figure out how to get the upper shaft out so that I can put the new lower on. Is there some trick or special tool required? The shaft is in the exhaust housing and there is really no way to put your hands around it to pull on it.
