stern drive

hi i have an alfa one gen 1 stern drive i want to change the gimbel bell housing any ideas how to get the wire out of the swivel pins, secondly can some one tell me what differance there is in an alfa 1 gen 1 gimbel and an alfa 1 gen 2 gimbel thanks ray

Alpha uses 1 cotter pin in the lower connecting pin.changing the housing has nothing to do with the swivel pin .Unless you have an early Series 1, MC-1 that uses SS nails to hold the hinge pins in place. Alpha 1 does not have the oil transfer valve to supply the outdrive with oil, Alpha GEN II`s do
