Noise

I recently installed an SE106, replacing a 21 year old OEM. After a small shift cable adjustment, it functions flawlessly. I do however have a whining noise while the drive is in neutral. Once in gear (forward/reverse) it goes away. It sounds like gear noise in the upper unit. I have run it for 8 plus hours with a slight deminishment in the sound. Will this "break in", or should I be concerned?

It will most likely quiet down more as it gets some more time on it.

Having to adjust the shift cable is pretty typical with a new drive.
