Gear oil type

What gear oil should I use for a se116? How much does it hold? any help is appreciated

I recommend Mercruiser High Performance gear lube.

The drive will hold a little over a quart, so get two quarts and you should be all set. If you have an external oil bottle, that will also take some oil, but you should have enough left over.
