water pump problem

installed a new sei lower unit in 9-9-09 have lost 2 water pumps since i installed it please help

Our SE306 does not come with a water pump from us, although we do offer them for sale. If you had two fail fairly quickly, I would think that it might be an istallation error. Are you sure you are putting the blades in the correct orientation when installing the impeller. The driveshaft spins clockwise.

Another possibility is that someone is running it out of the water with out the garden hose hooked up to it.
