MerCruiser® Hydraulics

Sterndrive Engineering (SEI) manufactures a hydraulic pump designed to fit and/or replace the MerCruiser® hydraulic pump for MerCruiser's® Alpha One®, and Gen II stern drives. The trim cylinder hydraulic pumps are assembled at SEI's factory in Clearwater, Florida. Each trim cylinder that fits and/or replaces MerCruiser's® hydraulic pump undergoes an extensive testing process. One hundred percent of the hydraulic pumps are tested to verify flow and pressure.

While rebuild kits are available for hydraulic pumps, SEI's hydraulic pumps are priced in such a way that rebuilding is not necessarily the best solution. For about the same price as a hydraulic pump rebuild kit from MerCruiser®, the customer can have a NEW hydraulic pump from SEI with a ONE-YEAR WARRANTY. Other companies offer remanufactured hydraulic pumps and trim cylinders, but SEI believes that buying these remanufactured units is risky given the possibility of reuse of damaged hydraulic pump parts. Buying a used hydraulic pump is also risky because it is not possible to know the condition of the interior parts which are critical to life and performance.

In addition to hydraulic pumps and trim cylinders, SEI also sells a replacement stern drive that fits and/or replaces MerCruiser's® Alpha One® and Gen II stern drives and outdrives. SEI is the largest supplier in the world of aftermarket stern drives that fit and/or replace MerCruiser's® Alpha One® and Gen II stern drives and outdrives.

SEI is owned and was founded by Greg Pickren in 2003. Mr. Pickren also owns the largest supplier of remanufactured Personal Water Craft (PWC) engines in the world. Since its inception SEI has grown very quickly and has expanded its product line to include items such as trim cylinders, hydraulic pumps, and other accessories.
