Sterndrive Engineering — Performance, Value & a Warranty all in one!

SEI maintains strict quality standards by utilizing only the highest grade parts from certified suppliers. Read below for more information on the components that are used to make a great drive.


		Lower Gears Our spiral bevel gears are cut and tested on Gleason machines. The forward and pinion gears are made from a higher grade alloy to provide for extended life. Gear wear patterns and backlash specs are verified to be within spec.


	Upper Gears SEI's replacement drives are available in 4 gear ratios: 1.47, 1.62, 1.81, and 1.94.


		Waterpump Assembly Our water pump impellers are made of high quality, long lasting, neoprene rubber.


	U-Joints SEI uses Heavy Duty U-joints for all four operating gear ratios: 1.47 (20/22), 1.62 (24/24), 1.81 (17/19) and 1.94 (20/24).


		Oil Seals & Gaskets SEI has designed and sourced its own high performance line of these products.


	Zinc Parts Using SEI's tooling and proprietary designs, only high quality die-cast zinc parts are used.


		Bearings All bearings have sucessfully completed hundreds of hours of stationary dock testing at our Research Facility


	Bearing Carrier SEI's bearing carriers are made of die-cast anodized aluminum.


		Shafts SEI's prop and driveshafts are friction welded bimetal. The gearbox end of the shaft is comprised of hardened alloy 8620, while the shaft end exposed to the elements is 17-4PH Stainless Steel.

The three year fault-free warranty covers any damage to the drive that requires it to be repaired or replaced including failures resulting from lack of oil, fishing line, impact, neglect, and other abuse.
